PillowFort Performance Group
Emily Gill, Artistic Coordinator
Emily currently teaches Theatre at University of Montevallo, specifically Costumes, Make-up, Wigs and Props. This position gives her the opportunity to design current and important scripted theatre and work with talented young artists to realize productions.
Emily started PillowFort to satisfy a ya-ya requirement for devised and site specific performance art that doesn't really have a place in a packed educational Theatre program. Drawing from pre-graduate work in Seattle WA, Atlanta GA and as a featured performance in the 2007 United States Student Exhibit for the Prague Quadrennial Design Exposition with then performance partner Ben Philipp; Emily looks to develop works that appeal to the local Montevallo community in this style so enjoyed in other places she has lived and worked.
